A Government spokesman announced today (August 31) that the Chief Executive had, on the recommendation of a selection panel, appointed Ms Iris Tam Siu-ying as the Executive Director (Planning and Development) of the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) for a term of three years. The appointment will take effect tomorrow (September 1, 2006).
A consultancy firm was commissioned by the Government to conduct an open recruitment exercise for the Executive Director (Planning and Development) post of the URA. A number of suitable candidates were shortlisted for interview by a selection panel comprising representatives of the Housing, Planning and Lands Bureau, the Planning Department and the URA.
"Ms Tam is recommended by the selection panel as the most suitable candidate for the post", the spokesman said.
The Executive Director (Planning and Development) is to deputise for the Managing Director of the URA in the planning, design and implementation of the projects of the URA.
