The Government today (February 23) gazetted the road works ancillary to drainage improvement works in Kam Tin area.
In connection with the drainage improvement works in Cheung Po, Ma On Kong, Yuen Kong San Tsuen and Tin Sam Tsuen area, the Drainage Services Department will construct new roads and reconstruct vehicular roads, footpaths and footbridges affected by the drainage improvement works.
Pedestrian access and vehicular access will be maintained during construction work although sections of existing roads and footpaths will be closed and demolished.
The works are scheduled to begin in January, 2008, for completion in September, 2010.
Upon completion, the road and the bridges will serve as local access to the public and will be used by the department as access to maintain the drainage facilities.
