Recruitment of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Building Services Engineers and Electronics Engineers
The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department will soon conduct recruitment exercises for Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Building Services Engineers and Electronics Engineers. Advertisements inviting applications will be published in local newspapers and on the website of the Civil Service Bureau in September, October and November respectively. Applications will close after two weeks of advertising.
Applicants require:
(I) Electrical and Mechanical Engineer
(a) Corporate Membership of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) (Electrical or Mechanical Discipline), elected after December 5, 1975, or equivalent;
(b) A "Pass" result in the Aptitude Test in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE); and
(c) "Level 1" results in Use of Chinese and Use of English in the CRE, or equivalent.
(II) Building Services Engineer
(a) Corporate Membership of the HKIE (Building Services, Electrical or Mechanical Discipline), elected after December 5, 1975, or equivalent;
(b) A "Pass" result in the Aptitude Test in the CRE; and
(c) "Level 1" results in Use of Chinese and Use of English in the CRE, or equivalent.
(III) Electronics Engineer
(a) Corporate Membership of the HKIE (Electronics, Information or Biomedical Discipline), elected after December 5, 1975, or equivalent;
(b) A "Pass" result in the Aptitude Test in the CRE; and
(c) "Level 1" results in Use of Chinese and Use of English in the CRE, or equivalent.
In order to meet the requirement set out in (a) for the above posts, applicants holding non-local professional qualifications should submit all necessary supporting documents to prove the equivalency of such qualifications, such as evidence of acceptance of their qualifications by the HKIE for admission to its Corporate Membership (Electrical/Mechanical/Building Services/Electronics/Information/Biomedical Discipline), after completion of any professional assessment or interview if so required, by the closing date for applications.
