The Development Bureau announced today (June 25) that the Chief Executive has reappointed Ms Iris Tam Siu-ying as Executive Director (Planning and Project Control) of the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) for another term of three years with effect from September 1, 2012.
Ms Tam was first appointed Executive Director of the URA in September 2006 and was reappointed in September 2009. She has been deputising the Managing Director of the URA in the planning, design and implementation of the URA's urban renewal projects.
"Ms Tam has made valuable contributions to the URA over the past six years in taking forward the redevelopment, rehabilitation, preservation and revitalisation initiatives of the URA. She provided staunch support to the Urban Renewal Strategy (URS) review launched by the Government between 2008 and 2010, and has been co-ordinating multi-disciplinary efforts within the URA to help draw up details and implement the various initiatives under the new URS," the spokesman of the Development Bureau said.
"Given her professional expertise and solid experience, we have every confidence that Ms Tam will continue to provide strong support to the URA in taking forward the various initiatives under the new URS, as well as the new pilot scheme to redevelop industrial buildings by the URA announced in the Financial Secretary's 2012-13 Budget Speech," the spokesman added.
