The Energizing Kowloon East Office (EKEO) of the Development Bureau received support from the Traffic and Transport Committee of the Kwun Tong District Council in May this year to change the wording of 26 existing directional signs in Kowloon East, from "Kwun Tong Industrial Area" to "Kwun Tong Business Area". The works were fully completed last month.
As part of its efforts to facilitate the long-term development of Energizing Kowloon East, the EKEO has been proactively looking into and implementing traffic improvement measures in the area since its inauguration. The new directional signs better reflect the direction of transforming Kowloon East into Hong Kong's alternative central business district (CBD2) - an area where more changes are expected in the future.
