The Planning Department (PlanD) today (March 27) published the Territorial Population and Employment Data Matrix (TPEDM) data.
"TPEDM is currently broken down into small zones, and covers assumptions for development projects which are still at a very preliminary stage or under study. TPEDM serves as a basis for Hong Kong's long-term and strategic land use and infrastructure planning and is mainly for the Government's internal use," a PlanD spokesman said.
In view of the public concerns including those from the relevant professions on the public access to TPEDM, PlanD decided after careful consideration that the current TPEDM data could be aggregated into 26 larger districts for public dissemination. The data includes the population and employment projections for the base year (2014) and two future years within the coming decade (2021 and 2026). It can serve as a reference for the technical assessments to be conducted by the relevant professions.
The TPEDM data concerned is available at PlanD's website (www.pland.gov.hk) for public viewing.
