An exhibition showcasing the partnering approach of the Architectural Services Department (ArchSD) in delivering its services and how it serves the community with care will be staged from tomorrow (May 29) to June 6 at Queensway Government Offices.
The Secretary for Development, Mrs Carrie Lam, and Permanent Secretary for Development (Works), Mr Mak Chai-kwong, officiated at the launching of the exhibition "Partnering to Serve with Care" this evening.
Mrs Lam commended ArchSD for their commitment and determination in delivering quality public works projects to the community over the years.
"I am glad to see that our ArchSD colleagues have adopted a caring attitude to deliver public works projects to ensure that the project design is sustainable and will meet the needs of end-users," Mrs Lam said.
The Director of Architectural Services, Mrs Marigold Lau, said that ArchSD was committed to serving and caring for the community by enriching the living environment through a partnering approach.
"On serving with care, ArchSD not only focused on the hardware, but also the software such as sharing our professional knowledge with the construction industry and the public, designing to meet the special needs of the community and encouraging local participation in beautifying the built environment," Mrs Lau said.
Meanwhile, as part of the efforts in caring for the public, ArchSD has completed three teaching kits for primary and secondary school students as materials for Liberal Studies.
The teaching kits on "Cultural Heritage and Built Environment", "Understanding the Building Process and Teamwork" and "Sustainable Design for Buildings" will be launched on ArchSD's website (www.archsd.gov.hk/archsd/html/teachingkits/) from today.
The exhibition "Partnering to Serve with Care" will be held from tomorrow (May 29) to June 6 from 9am to 6pm at Deck Floor, Queensway Government Offices, 66 Queensway, Hong Kong.
