The Government today (November 16) announced that the Chief Executive has re-appointed Mr James To Kun-sun and Mr Wong Kwok-kin, and appointed Mr Dennis Kwok, as non-official non-executive directors to the Board of the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) under section 4 of the Urban Renewal Authority Ordinance.
The current term of appointment of Mr To and Mr Wong, which ties in with their previous term as Members of the Legislative Council, will expire on November 30, 2012. The new term of appointment of the three Members of the Legislative Council is from December 1, 2012 to November 30, 2014.
"The appointment of the three Legislative Council Members to the Board of the URA will help enhance the representativeness of the Board and maintain a close link between the URA and the Legislative Council," the Secretary for Development, Mr Paul Chan, said.
Mr Chan expressed gratitude to the outgoing member, Miss Tanya Chan, for her invaluable contribution to the work of the URA in the past four years.
The URA Board comprises 18 non-official non-executive directors (including the Chairman), four official non-executive directors and three executive directors. All the non-official non-executive directors are appointed in their personal capacity.
