Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Development, Mr Paul Chan, at a media session after the Symposium on Harbourfront Development 2013 today (October 4):
Reporter: Secretary, will having a military dock in Central harbourfront be an obstacle to unleash the potential of Hong Kong waterfront?
Secretary for Development: Well, the design of the Central military dock has taken into consideration the accessibility and connectivity of the harbourfront, as well as the overall design to be compatible with the public's aspiration for use of the waterfront. If the site is not to be used, if the site is not for military use, the public will have free and complete access to that particular part. But even if it is closed for military use, the accessibility, in particular the connectivity of the promenade, will not be blocked.
