The Secretary for Development, Mr Paul Chan, will depart for Shanghai tomorrow (March 23) to attend the 7th Shanghai-Hong Kong Metropolitan Development Seminar to be held on Monday (March 24). He will deliver a keynote speech at the seminar.
The seminar is jointly organised by the Shanghai Chinese Overseas Friendship Association and the Hong Kong-Shanghai Economic Development Association. It is supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Shanghai of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government.
The theme of the seminar this year highlights new challenges in the world economy and new opportunities for co-operation between Hong Kong and Shanghai.
During his visit in Shanghai, Mr Chan will also meet Hong Kong people working in Shanghai to learn more about their work and life there.
Mr Chan will return to Hong Kong in the evening on Monday.
