Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Development, Mr Paul Chan, at the question-and-answer session of a media session today (September 30) on the quarterly land sale programme for October to December 2015:
Reporter: Mr Chan, you mentioned that some land sale sites in Tai Po are actually undergoing procedures that could lead to a judicial review. How do you respond to that if there is a challenge in getting a judicial review? How would you or the Government respond?
Secretary for Development: The three sites (in Tai Po) that we are going to put up for sale in the coming quarter are within an Outline Zoning Plan which is the subject of a judicial review. There is an application to the court for leave to institute a judicial review. But at this stage, the court has not granted any leave yet. As I mentioned earlier, this Outline Zoning Plan has been passed by the Town Planning Board, and the Chief Executive in Council has approved it. So the various zonings in the plan have come into operation and we have sufficient legal basis to proceed with the sale of the sites therein.
