The Secretary for Development, Mr Eric Ma, today (February 13) issued the following statement:
I am deeply honoured to be appointed as Secretary for Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government. I would like to thank the Central People's Government and the HKSAR Government for their support and trust in me.
Since I joined the Government in January 2014 as Under Secretary for Development, I have been working tirelessly with colleagues of the Development Bureau in taking forward various policy initiatives.
I will endeavour to forge ahead with the initiatives of increasing land supply, which is one of the most important tasks of the Development Bureau. On the other hand, land use planning, urban renewal, public works projects and heritage conservation are also our major policy areas. I will continue to work closely with colleagues of the Development Bureau and its departments on these initiatives.
I would like to thank the Chief Executive and the former Secretary for Development, Mr Paul Chan, for their support to the work of the Development Bureau. We will work very hard to serve the people of Hong Kong and to promote its sustainable development.
