The Secretary for Development, Mr Michael Wong, today (April 10) continued his visit to Beijing as he paid courtesy calls on the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Water Resources.
In the morning, Mr Wong met with the Director-General of the Department of Foreign Assistance of the Ministry of Commerce, Mr Wang Shengwen. They exchanged views on various issues including matters relating to the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA), the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area, the Belt and Road Initiative and Hong Kong's engagement in the Mainland's overseas aid construction projects.
Subsequently, Mr Wong met with the Vice Minister of Water Resources, Mr Zhou Xuewen, to exchange views on water resources management, Dongjiang water quality and supply agreements, and flood prevention work.
Those accompanying Mr Wong on the visit included the Permanent Secretary for Development (Works), Mr Hon Chi-keung, and the Deputy Secretary for Development (Works), Mr Francis Chau. Mr Wong and the accompanying officials will return to Hong Kong tonight.
