Development Bureau has completed processing the sixth round of applications and approved seven applications involving a total of 935 quotas. Together with the 718 active quotas approved earlier under the Supplementary Labour Scheme, which are to be counted towards the importation quota of the Scheme, there are a total of 9 109 approved and active quotas under the Scheme.
The relevant contracts include those related to the Three-Runway System of the Hong Kong International Airport and its related expansion, hospital development, waste management and sewage facilities, public housing, site formation and infrastructure, and other building projects.
The approved trades/disciplines include mainly cement sand mortar worker, refrigeration/air-conditioning/ventilation mechanic, and fire service mechanic, etc.
