Staging "Energizing Kowloon East" at international exhibition (with photos)
The Hong Kong exhibition "Ghostwriting the Future", which showcases the main initiatives of "Energizing Kowloon East", has been chosen as one of the top five displays at the 13th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale. The Biennale is one of the most prestigious architecture events in the world, attracting exhibitors from 55 nations or cities this year.
Entitled "Inter Cities/Intra Cities: Ghostwriting the Future", the Hong Kong exhibition weaves stories from the past, present and future into real and speculative propositions for the Kowloon East development, showing how the area is being transformed into a vibrant and fascinating sector of the city. The exhibition was voted by the Architect's Journal, a highly respected British publication, as one of the top five architecture events at the Biennale. It was also ranked as one of this autumn's five most inspiring exhibitions by Interior Design, an American magazine.
This year's Hong Kong exhibition at the Biennale is sponsored by Create Hong Kong and the Development Bureau and organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Architects and Hong Kong Arts Development Council with Oval Partnership as curator. The exhibition runs till November 25 in Venice. In spring 2013 it will be moved to Hong Kong and staged in a revamped public space underneath the Kwun Tong Bypass next to the Energizing Kowloon East Office.
