Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs and Secretary for Development to visit Sichuan

The Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Stephen Lam, and the Secretary for Development, Mrs Carrie Lam, will depart for Chengdu, Sichuan, to attend a meeting on Saturday (October 11) with Sichuan officials on matters regarding the post-quake reconstruction work in the province.

Together with members of the Hong Kong Construction Sector 5.12 Reconstruction Joint Conference, Mrs Lam will also attend a related working meeting. They will also conduct field visits to some reconstruction projects.

The main purpose of this trip is to follow up on the detailed arrangements regarding the HKSAR's participation in the post-quake reconstruction efforts. Experts from both sides will also exchange views on the project items.
